Introduction to Iraqi COC certification

Iraq's central organization for standard quality control (COSQC) will implement the pre-import inspection, testing and certification program (ICIGI) to limit the import of substandard, counterfeit and substandard products into Iraq and to protect domestic consumers, producers, the environment and public safety.Iraq's central organization for standard quality control (COSQC) has implemented a pre-export inspection, testing and certification programme (ICIGI) for goods exported to Iraq.The project will begin on May 1, 2011.All products within the scope of Iraq's pre-inspection, testing and Conformity programme (ICIGI) must be imported into Iraq with a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) or Release Note.The product conformity certificate is the document required for the customs clearance of the goods in Iraq.

The Iraqi CoC is compulsory certification, which is applied by the exporter for the importer to clear customs at the port of destination.All products in the Iraqi control catalogue must be processed as one-off customs clearance documents.

Iraqi COC certification control scope

1. Toys: children's toys, crayons, watercolors and modeling clay, etc.

2. Electrical and electronic products: household electrical and electronic products, household electrical installation accessories (switch, plug, socket, adapter, junction board, etc.);Battery (lead-acid battery, dry battery);Household electric lamps (fluorescent lamps, tungsten lamps, energy-saving lamps);Wire and cable (liVC insulation rated voltage 450V/750V, rated voltage 600, 1000V cable);Machine accessories for household lights (starter, ballast);Household heating elements and electric storage water heater with constant temperature;Telephone cables;Evaporative air cooler and its electronic accessories (electric motor, water pump).

3. Automobiles, tires and automobile parts: automobile and its spare parts, automobile safety glass, tires and pipes of different automobiles, trucks, trailers, buses, bicycles, motorcycles, etc.

4. Construction products: cement;Galvanized sheet.Aluminum alloy column wire - pipes, rods and profiles for general engineering use;Carbon steel bars for reinforced concrete;Structural steel;Welded steel pipes for steel reinforcement and concrete;Galvanized carbon steel and ductile iron pipes and fittings;Building bricks;Faucets and valves (water taps, stop service globe valves and mixing valves);Plastic pipes, fittings, fittings, joints, etc.

5. Cosmetics, personal hygiene products and detergents: cosmetics (all kinds);Toothpaste, tooth powder, shaving cream and foam;Household washing powder (high foaming, for automata);Household liquid detergents and cleaning creams;Soap, baby soap, liquid soap;Air fresheners (all types);Baby diapers and nappies;The sanitary napkin.Facial tissues (including kitchen towels, wet wipes, scented wipes, and toilet paper);Toothbrush.Fabric softener;Carpet, floor, oven, glass vacuum cleaner;Toilet cleaner;Sodium hypochlorite solution;Calcium hypochlorite and chlorinated lime;Disposable razor blade;Pipeline cleaner - alkaline etc.

6. Daily hardware: safety matches;Plastic and rubber eraser;A pencil.Wooden colored pencil and pencil sharpener;Hose.

7. Kitchen utensils: paper cups, paper plates and paper straws;Disposable plastic cups, plates and containers;Plastic straws;Plastic tableware and tableware, aluminum tableware;Stainless steel tableware and silver-plated tableware;Food containers with aluminum foil;Food and medicine foil wrapping paper;Metal containers for food;Metal POTS, kettles, teapots and sewing utensils (coated and uncoated);Ceramic tableware;Food raw materials with plastic containers, etc.

10. Household gas appliances: LPG cooker and water heater;Kerosene convection heater and cooking appliance and domestic water heater, etc.

11. Others: all kinds of metal cans and metal covers, etc.

Note: under the new regulation, all products exported to Iraq shall apply for the COC certificate within the scope of control, but not apply for the PSI certificate within the scope of control.

Iraqi COC certification process

1. Provide samples to the third party for test report

2. Submit product inspection report + packing list + commercial invoice + inspection application form + copy of bill of lading to the institution for inspection

3. After applying for inspection, the parties shall negotiate the inspection time and place and inspection time, and the inspector shall go to the designated place of the exporter or manufacturer for inspection

4. The inspection is OK, and the agency will arrange to issue the Iraqi COC clearance certificate

Iraq COC certification handling matters needing attention

Different from Saudi SASO certification and Syrian CoC, Iraq needs to re-verify and inspect at the destination port, including the following contents:

1. Check the authenticity of CoC certificate

2. Check whether the goods arriving at the port are consistent with the relevant documents submitted

3. Check the condition of the goods

4. Conduct packing inspection on the goods required by the Iraqi customs to open the container

If the above verification results are "satisfactory", release documents will be issued at the port of destination

Iraq CoC certificate and Iraq VoC certificate refer to the same kind of certificate, but with different names. They both refer to the product conformity certificate, which is used for customs clearance at the destination port of the importer.

VoC - its whole name is Verification of Conformity

The CoC in Iraq is the same as the CoC in Syria, except that Iraq needs to check at the destination port, while Syria needs the importer to apply for VOR price in the importing country.

Iraqi electrical parameters are as follows

Iraq's voltage can be marked with a range, such as: 100v-240v, 220v-230v...Both are acceptable

Similarly, the frequency can be marked as follows: 50HZ/60HZ, 50hz-60hz...60HZ alone is not acceptable

Iraqi product labels and specifications are as follows

The Iraqi COC certificate, which is bilingual in English and Arabic, is provided to the importer for customs clearance at the port of destination.

Iraq does not impose energy-efficiency labels on products such as refrigerators and air conditioners, as Saudi Arabia does.

To Iraq products need to prepare the Arabic manual, such as only English manual, need to add an Arabic manual.

For electrical and electronic products, the instruction manual shall include the following contents:

1) product name

2) name, manufacturer

3) trademark or identification mark

4) model

5) the origins of nations

6) simple description, and installation and correct way to operate,

7) information and home appliances 8) instructions to follow when troubleshooting) instructions, warnings and use of...cars onlyEtc.

The name of manufacturer or trademark, voltage frequency, product name, model and MADE IN CHINA logo shall be marked on the outer box of electrical and electronic products
